Description
Experimental Plant Biotechnology Techniques By Pooja Sarma. 1/e. 2020
Plant biotechnologies play a key role in iemssive producion of improved crop varieties (through in Vitro issue cultüre followed by clonal propagation), as well as tin their genetic improvement. They can also help in propajatingplant species which contain useful and biólogicaly active substances, eg., food additive, pigment, pharmaceuticals, biopesticides, etc. Organ tissuê and cell cuture could be more éffictentthan conventional extraction. Plant biotechnology has its roots deep in human civilization but was established just a century ago Starting outside the science mainstream of the time period; classical plant biotechnology slowly but steadily grew into a recognized discipline.
The explosive growth of biology research at the end of the twentieth çentury brought plant biotechnology to the fast track line. The field grew very rapidly and currently turned into a key tool for fundaimental research and practical uses. Currently plant biotechnology has been essentially grown, and new disciplines as omics technologies as genome editing have arisen which further intensify both fundamental and practical studies in biology and iake a bridge with other scientfic areas as informatics, nanotechnology, and so called digital and intelligent science. This book covers all important aspects of practical utity in frield of genetic manipulation by tissue culture methods, protoplast technology and gene transfer methods for providing the students simple afd reproducible protocols so that the practical utility in different areas of biotechnology shouldbe fulfiled.
