New Chapter 10 on “Grid Slab” giving different methods of analysis is illustrated by an example of slab size 12 m × 9 m, with maximum rib spacing of 1.5 m × 1.5 m in mutually perpendicular directions.
The contents of the yield line theory have been revised and examples from university papers added.
This is included in Chapter 9.
Chapter 14 on Pile Foundation has been revised.
The Appendices have been revised.
In Appendices the imposed load deleted and replaced by soil data. The practical design requirements added and remaining part rearranged.
